Secretary Kerry met today in Belgrade with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin. The two ministers met on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial meeting.
They discussed ongoing events in eastern Ukraine, to include continued Russian support of separatist elements there. And both stressed the importance of full implementation of the Minsk Agreement by all sides, including unfettered access by OSCE monitors.
The Secretary also made clear that, until the Minsk Agreement is fully implemented, the U.S. and our partners, continue to support the extension of existing international sanctions on Russia.
The Secretary reaffirmed U.S. commitment to Ukraine and to Ukrainian sovereignty. He praised Ukraine’s reform progress, and urged the continuation of anti-corruption efforts.
