Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland , during which the parties discussed the future course of action on reform in Ukraine, the question of their support from the United States.
Volodymyr Groysman informed his interlocutors about the priorities of the new Government.
“The real situation is very difficult. Today, this situation requires maximum concentration and maximum commitment to reforms in the country, what we are and focus” – said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister stressed the determination of the Government to carry out the reforms that are aimed, in particular, to combat corruption, including reform of the Ukrainian customs.
In turn Victoria Nuland congratulated Volodymyr Groysman on his appointment as Prime Minister and expressed support for the new government in its determination to carry out the necessary reforms in the economic and social spheres, in energy, in combating corruption. “Ukraine has already shown tremendous progress, but there is still a lot of work” – she said.
Assistant Secretary of State confirmed the readiness of the US to select another set of financial guarantees for Ukraine Ukraine after the adoption of important laws continue reforms that have been identified as part of agreements with the International Monetary Fund.
The parties also discussed progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Victoria Nuland confirmed the commitment of the US administration to the principles of respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of borders of Ukraine.
