Message to U.S. Citizens: Embassy Holiday Hours

Please be advised that the U.S. Embassy will close on Friday, December 31, and re-open on Tuesday, January 4 , due to U.S. and Ukrainian holidays.

As a reminder, the Department of State continues to advise U.S. citizens not to travel to Ukraine due to COVID-19 and to reconsider travel due to increased threats from Russia. For more information, please review the latest travel advisory on Ukraine’s country information page

Additional Actions to Take:

·         Monitor local media for updates.

·         Ensure travel documents are valid and easily accessible.

·         Review your personal security plans.

·         Familiarize yourself with information on what the U.S. government can and cannot do to assist you in a crisis overseas.

·         Have evacuation plans that do not rely on U.S. government assistance. Visit the CDC Travelers Health Page. Enroll in the Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates and makes it easier for the U.S. Embassy to contact you in an emergency. If you do not have Internet access, enroll directly with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
