The Foreign Agricultural Service of the United States Embassy in Ukraine represents the interests of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). FAS/Kyiv oversees USDA’s activities in Ukraine including market development, trade agreements and negotiations, and the collection and analysis of statistics and market information.
These responsibilities are principally accomplished via reporting commodity and trade developments to the USDA, coordinating policy issues with host government officials and promoting the sale of U.S. food, agricultural, forestry and fishery products.
We provide trade services for Ukrainian importing companies seeking U.S. products and U.S. companies wishing to develop markets in Ukraine. FAS also serves as the official conduit for notifications and comments about veterinary, sanitary and phytosanitary issues and technical barriers to trade. Reports prepared by FAS/ Kyiv cover changes in policies and other developments that could affect U.S. agricultural exports.
FAS manages financial programs aimed at trade risk reduction for U.S. suppliers. Other export facilitation programs for Ukraine are implemented by FAS/Kyiv, as well.
