WMD Proliferation Prevention

After a long-standing project ended in 2013, in response to the conflict in the East and requests by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for urgent assistance, on 22 April 2014 the Office of the Vice President formally announced the approval of non-lethal border security assistance.  WMD-PPP provided $15M in crisis assistance to the Border Guards and was the first U.S. agency to react and provide technical assistance during the conflict. This phase of the project ended in December 2016.
