Deputy Chief of Mission Pamela Tremont’s Remarks Awards Ceremony of the 2018 KORD Challenge International SWAT Competition

September 28, 2018

Доброго дня всім!  Pада Вас бачити.

Deputy Minister Rudenko, Chief Kniazev, Chief Tsygykal, First Deputy Chief Abroskin, SWAT competitors, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.

Thank you for inviting me to this ceremony for the 2018 KORD Challenge.  It is a great pleasure to be here!

First and foremost, congratulations to all the competitors for successfully completing the challenge. Doesn’t look like there are too many injuries out there. I understand this was a quite rigorous challenge and I am very glad that my participation is only in the graduation ceremony!

I’m especially pleased to include our American compatriots in this challenge — the SWAT teams from Los Angeles, Milwaukee, and Washington — and the team from Moldova – the “Fulgers”.  You have made this competition truly international.

I hope this was a great opportunity for you all not to just hone your skills, but to cooperate internationally and learn more about each other.

This is the second iteration of the KORD challenge, as you probably know, and we are very proud that the newly established Ukrainian SWAT teams have shown progress in the past couple of years. And you not only put on this whole challenge, but you competed against some of the best SWAT teams internationally.

So thank you to the National Police and the KORD for putting this all together.

To all of today’s participants, I wish you continued professional success, but mostly health and happiness.

Thank you!
