“American Music Abroad” Returns to Ukraine

The program founded by Department of State in partnership with American Voices presents a wide variety of American muical genres and styles all over the world. In the 2016-2017 alone, AMA bands reached audiences in 42 different countries. AMA builds on the historis legacy of Jazz Ambassadors and Rhytm Road programs that have been connecting people through music since 1950s.

Ukrainian audiences still fondly remember amazing performances by  Jazz Ambassadors trio in 2001, Adam Klipple Quartet in 2003, Marlon Jordan Quartet in 2005, Ryam Cohan Quartet in 2009, “Tumbling Bones” in 2016 and “Laura Cortese and the Dance Cards” in 2017.

This April Seth Glier trio representing American singer-songwriter tradition will give free concerts and master classes in Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolayiv, Kherson, Melitopol and Berdyansk. They will conclude their tour performing in Zaporizhzhya at the new JAZZY festival.
