U.S. Embassy Kyiv is proud to sponsor “America Days” in Lviv on May 25-29, 2016: a four-day cultural festival highlighting American films, music, education, art, business and U.S. Embassy programs here in Ukraine.
U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt will be in Lviv to take part in the celebrations.
As part of America Days, the Embassy is sponsoring an open-air stage on May 28-29 in front of the Opera Theater, which will host performances of American-style music, and a fair featuring U.S. and local businesses.
In addition, the Embassy is cooperating with GoGlobal and the British Council to organize an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest English language lesson in the world, to take place simultaneously at 13:00 on May 28 in Lviv and all around Ukraine.
Other events include a festival of American independent film in “Kinopalats Copernic,” American film classics in the park, exhibitions of Native American artifacts and U.S. political cartoons, and performances by Potomac Fever, an a cappella group from Washington, DC, and by the Lviv Youth Symphonic Orchestra INSO.
Admission to most events is free.
