U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power will travel to Ukraine next week, from June 10 to 12.
In Ukraine, Ambassador Power will meet with senior government officials, parliamentarians, members of civil society, internally displaced persons, monitors from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and students and other young people to discuss the ongoing aggression by Russia in eastern Ukraine and the critical importance of Ukrainian governmental and civil society-led reform efforts.
On Thursday, June 11, Ambassador Power will deliver remarks to the Ukrainian people on the critical importance of Ukraine’s reform efforts, underscoring the support of the United States for Ukrainians during this difficult process, as well as for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty in the face of Russia’s hostile actions in eastern Ukraine and continuing occupation of Crimea. More details of the Ambassador’s travel will be forthcoming.
